Luana Poliseli

I am a philosopher of science with a background in biology. For the GEOS postdoctoral position (2022-2024) my immediate research goals are twofold. First, develop a framework for engaging with expertise and epistemic peerage in inter- and transdisciplinary research teams that is focused on aesthetic experiences. And second, expand current work on the epistemology of Traditional Ecological Knowledge through an account of Traditional Ecological Understanding.

Previously, I was a postdoc (2020-2022) at the Konrad Lorenz Institute for Evolution and Cognition Research (KLI), Austria, working on ecological understanding in sustainability sciences. I have concluded my PhD in History, Philosophy and Science Teaching (2018) at federal University of Bahia, internship at University of Amsterdam where I worked with mechanistic explanations and scientific understanding in ongoing ecological research practices.
