Evolving epistemologies: Understanding hybrid knowledge and its impact on livelihoods in migrant-agricultural settings in Ghana

Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK) is increasingly recognized for its value in sustaining livelihoods and their resilience. My PhD research aims to understand the process of how different TEK systems co-exist, interact and are exchanged between different communities, as well as their impact on livelihoods. For this, I will do a case study both in the Brong Ahafo and Northern regions in Ghana, two areas with a high rate of migration of farmers between them. Furthermore, the research employs an iterative and reflexive approach, and is both theoretically and empirically innovative in its focus on the intersection of agricultural sciences, migration studies, and anthropology.
